Geometric designs are currently everywhere; in fashion, textiles and most recently in the craft world. Docrafts have released a range of geometric craft supplies including papers, stamps, cards and kits. The current colourways for the Geometric designs are Monotone and Neon, both are fantastic. All the items are available in the shop and also online here.

I was lucky enough to receive a selection Geometric craft goodies in my recent Docrafts creativity demonstrators kit, i enjoyed experimenting with the different products creating a selection different cards and papercraft items. I used some of the mini flag die cuts in the paper and die cut pack to create bunting and also flags for cupcakes with numbers on that are brilliant for birthdays. I used box diecuts from the pack to make sweet gift boxes. I found the neon papers are great for female cards, general and even easter cards. The monotone papers are perfect for all types of cards, especially male cards that can sometime be difficult to create. There are many more craft items alongside the papers available in the geometric capsule collections such as mini stamp and card kits, mini tag and stamp kits, die cut & paper packs, scrapbook sets, notebooks and more.
I have shared lots of my creations on my instagram account www.instagram.com/creativekerri

If you have been working with the geometric range please do share with us your creations.

One of the new releases from Docrafts are adhesive stencils. There are a selection of different designs available some following the current Geometric trend and others such as 'Love' and 'Hello' wording. The stencils are designed for use in mixed medias; paper crafts, fabric, wood craft and more. I have been experimenting with them and found them to be a great addition to my kit.

I have the set with 'Love' and 'Hello' wording although the wording it both along one sheet i chose to cut them apart to make applying them and removing them easier. I have experimented with the hexagon pattern stencil using it on card with watercolour pens and inks. I have also used the 'Love' wording & arrow stencils to create a mixed media canvas as in the demo below.

    Hello everyone

I'm Kerri one of the Scrapmixers design team. I have for you today a 'CAS' (Clean and Simple) mixed media canvas art tutorial. I thought with valentines coming up it would make a great gift for the one you love. (This demo is also available on the scrapmixers website as i made this mixed media canvas as part of their design team)
To create this canvas I used:
Square canvas / Red Spritz Ink / Hematite Spritz Ink / Gold embossing powder / Clear emboss ink pad / 'Love' stencil / Arrow stencil / Gold mirror arrows / Black metallic paint / Gold spotted craft tape / Gold gems / Black wooden arrow / Gold & black paper

    Essential tools:
Heart punch / Tacky glue / Heat gun

Step 1: I used the red spritz ink to cover the canvas, once dry I added drips of the hematite spritz ink by removing the spray nozzle and dripping the ink, I then left to completely dry.
Step 2: I applied the 'Love' stencil to the centre and then applied clear emboss ink, I removed the stencil and added gold embossing powder. I tapped off the excess powder onto a scrap piece of paper and put back into the pot so not to waste any. I used my heat gun to heat the embossing powder leaving behind a beautiful foiled effect 'Love'.
Step 3: I applied my arrow stencil to the top edge and used black metallic paint, I then repeated the process to the bottom opposite edge.
Step 4: I applied self adhesive gold mirror arrows above each of the black stencilled areas.
Step 5: I cut craft tape into thin strips with triangular edges and applied to the top left hand corner. I then added gold gems and a mini wooden arrow.
Step 6: I used a heart punch in gold and black paper to create the mini heart for the top left hand corner.

If you would like to create this canvas you can find all the materials on www.imaginedesigncreate.co.uk and use code 'Scrapmixers' to received 10% off. If you have been inspired by this canvas to create your own mixed media art please do share it with us in the comments. We love to see your work.

    Good morning everyone

It is time for another challenge over at the Creative Craft Cottage blog. This challenge is sponsored by Artidoodles who supplied me with this beautiful floral and butterfly image to use as part of my design team challenge.

I really hope i did the image justice in creating this card. I used spectrum noirs to colour the image and coated with spectrum noir sparkle on top. I used a backing paper from the Butterfly Dreams card making compendium from Docrafts and goal mirror board. I finished the card with some gems and a gold heat embossed sentiment from the Docrafts 'birthday verses' collection.

I hope you will take a look at the challenge blog and if you have time please do enter it is great fun and you could win some digi images!

    Good morning everyone,

Today i have another card to show you, this one was created at my demo on 9th Jan. I used papers from the Docrafts classic decadence range cut into squares and backed onto gold mirror board to create the focus points. I used gold geometric print vellum from the new 'geometric neons' paper and die cut pack for the decorative backing directly onto a square card blank. I made a bookmark / tag strip in gold mirror board for effect. I added 'DAD' letter from the geometric paper pack and made two paperclip bookmarks as embellishments but that can also be saved by 'DAD' to use as bookmarks. The paperclips were from the geometric monotone scrap booking set and the ribbon is from the new monotone geometric range.

Although a simple card it would make a great card for anyone if the letter were changed to a different name.

    Good morning everyone,

Today i have another card to show you, this one was created at my demo on 9th Jan.

To create this card i used items from the new Docrafts 'Butterfly dreams' card making compendium. I love the set, it has such beautiful papers and die cuts that work well for all sorts of papercrafts not just for cards. I also used one of the new sentiments stamps 'birthday verses' and basics from my core kit.

Step one: Use a blank square card blank as a base. Draw around the square onto the back of your selected decorated paper (i used a paper with butterflies and dandelions on as you can see) and the cut out the square of decorative paper and stick it to your card blank using double sided tape.

Step two: Use an ink pad to stamp your chosen verse onto plain white card. Cut out the stamped sentiment and back it on silver mirror board.

Step three: Use raised foam pads to stick the backed sentiment onto the top corner of the card. Add self adhesive gems to the corners for decoration.

Step four: Pop our some of the butterfly die cuts from your butterfly dreams compendium, stick the to the card using tacky glue. If you like the double / 3d effect of the butterflies add one small butterfly inside a larger one, this gives the butterfly added dimension as if the wings are flapping.

You will end up with a simple but effective card. Pretty don't you think?

I'd love to see your creations if you follow this simple guide!
