  1. I can't believe it's the 1st of August already! Surely i'm not the only one?

July was a jam packed month of creativity and events.

My favourite event has to be the Axmouth Village show where i had the honour of judging the crafts section. There were some fantastic entries it was very difficult to choose the winners but i took my time and had a good look at all the items. I hope all the winners and those who entered enjoyed the show too.

I've had a good time creating this month with all the new ranges, i'm starting to enjoy card making again after a year or so break from it. I've even had a go at decoupaging on items and cards i have to say i was pleased with the finished pieces. Decopatching will still remain my favourite activity though!

In the shop we have had lots of new products arrive in store such as the folk floral range, classic decadance and artist brushes to name just a few. We are starting to expand the range of artist materials after many requests and suggestions from the local community. So thank you for your feedback we really do value it!

We have also had lots of creative children join us this past week in the art room for drop in arts & crafts, there are some really talented young ones out there!

Finally i want to close on a THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me in my creative journey over the past 6 years. I never dreamed i would be able to make a career out of something i love but you have all enabled me to do so. Having my little craft centre in Seaton make me the happiest i have ever been and my sons are loving it here too, the community and the visitors here are lovely. The amazing feedback and comments i get on my shop, workshops and parties makes all the hard work so THANK YOU!

Going forward i would really like to get my personal creative work out there a little more by joining challenges, design teams and anything else thats out there to push me forward in my creative journey. So please do give me a shout if you have any suggestions.

    Love and glitter,

    Kerri-Ann

  2. So the new do crafts folk floral collection has arrived!
Obviously the first thing i had to do was purchase a goodie bag and few bits from the range for myself so i could have an evening of creativity. I really enjoyed working with the collection, the colours and patterns in the papers are fantastic. I don't often work with decoupage / toppers but found the wording and style inspired me to use them in different ways. As you will all know i'm a big fan of decopatch, so when i saw the new folk floral deco sheets i got very excited and ended up using a sheet on a few different projects!
I decided to create some fridge magnets using the new calender tabs and some of the large kraft tags from a xmas tag box i purchased previously.
I then went on to upcycled the packaging of the gift tags box to create some little desk calenders too, never waste anything!

I used the deco sheets to jaz up a wooden candle stand in the store, obviously never use with a real candle but looks great on display or could use one of the fake candles available in certian stores.

Gift bags & boxes are always useful so i created a couple of those and pleased with how they turned out.

I've lots of things left in the goodie bag i've not even touched yet as well as other bits and pieces i picked up so i'm sure there will be many more projects to come out of this collection.

I really hope you like my items, do please leave comments with your thoughts or suggestions it's always nice to know what people thing of my creations.

  3. I've been asked by many of my regular customers and those who know me personally to start up a blog to share my personal creative journey, tips and ideas. I've tried blogging once before, many years ago before i had kids and struggled to remember to post...i'm hoping that with this one i will naturally just post as i have so much to share about crafting these days with being a full time crafter / shop owner now!

As well as owning a craft shop and being a mum to two young boys i am also a crafting addict (you may have guessed that already!) I can be found in a pile of crafty items on the floor most evenings letting my imagination take over.

I hope to use this space to share with you my creative journey, please feel free to leave comments and suggestions.
