Hi there everyone, Terri here today to talk about other ways in which you can use your stamps.  I’ve been stamping for around 14 years and am a little bit addicted to buying new stamps  (much to my husband’s annoyance) One of the rules that I try to live by when buying new craft items is that the item must have more than 1 use.

I have made a little collection of party items to share with you, each using the stamps from the Lily the lion stamp set.

Now stamps can obviously be stamped, it’s kind of in the name. Try to think outside of the box and see what you can do that isn’t just a card or scrapbook layout. How about using them in “off the page” projects such as home décor or creating party ware.

First up is a treat box, now you can get ready cut boxed or you could cut your own using a die or electronic machine such as a Cricut or Scan and Cut. For this cute little box I used a ready cut box and decorated it with the Paw prints and a fussy cut Lion which I stamped and coloured with Alcohol markers.

I then thought about How I could make a tag to add to a cone of popcorn or sweets, this is a really simple way to add a personal touch to your party items at a low cost.

This next item was really fun to work with, I thought a straw with a Lion on would be a cool item to add to the party ware. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut a lion for the front of the straw. To created to back of the Lion, I placed my lion face down on a piece of card and drew around it, I then drew in the mane and where the tail would sit. Once coloured I cut it out and adhered both pieces to the straw using hot glue.

So how about the birthday table, well some cute place cards would work a treat. I cut a piece of card to measure 3.5” by 3” and stamped the lion image to the righthand side. I scored the card in half but didn’t score where the lions head sat, instead I cut around the mane where it sits above the score line, this way when folded the Lion sits taller.

The last item I created was some wrapping paper, this is a really fun way to tie the whole party together, imagine having pass the parcel wrapped in the paper that coordinates with all of the table wear.

I am so pleased with how cute all of the items turned out and how fun this would be for a little person’s party. I will be back with more ideas on ways to use your stamps soon.
