Inked and Stencilled circles
Posted on
Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog for Imagine Design Create.
This week I got to play with the Circles stencil/mask and I’m in love. Their versatility is endless and I’ve had a lot of fun creating with them.
I hope you like the two samples I’m sharing with you today.
What you will need to make these cards –
-
6 ½ x 4 ½ White card stock
-
Circles Stencil/mask from IDC
-
Windows & Shapes stencil/mask from IDC
-
Block Sentiments stamp set from IDC
-
Versamark Ink
-
Black embossing powder
In addition to these items for my first sample I also used.
-
Distress ink in – Picked raspberry
How to make my first sample –
-
First using Distress inks and sponge applicators I blended my chosen colour together to create a base, using light circular movements to gradually add colour to my liking.
-
I next took my Circles stencil, black soot distress ink and sponge applicators and gently blended the black out from the edge of the inside or outside of the circles stencil. I used all the sizes in different orders to create this effect including one I borrowed from the Windows & Shapes stencils and masks set.
-
I took the happy birthday sentiment from IDC’s Block Sentiments stamp set, I inked the stamp with Versamark ink, stamped it on to a scrap piece of white card and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I then trimmed it down leaving a small white border.
-
I mat and layered with black card stock and used 3d sticky buds to add my sentiment.
How to make my seconded sample –
-
Using distress inks (Squeezed lemonade, Picked raspberry , Mermaid lagoon) and sponge applicators again, this time I only used the inside circles and blended chosen ink together creating ‘moons’.
-
I wanted to add some dimension so I mixed a little indigoblu super thick slap it on with indigoblu luscious pigment powder in gold, and applied it through the bubbles in the corner of the circle stencil randomly over my card base.
-
I then heat embossed the thank you sentiment from the Block sentiments stamp set and mat and layered the card the same as my first sample.
I hope you enjoyed my first ever blog and feel inspired to get crafty!
