SIMPLE WINTER TAG
Hi I'm Deborah, and I am so delighted to be chosen as a guest designer for Imagine Design Create. I love mixed media and doing things a bit different. I so look forward to sharing my journey here with you
Ingredients
Imagine Design Create Pippa Penguin Stamp Set
Imagine Design Create Circles & Square Stencil
Imagine Design Create 8” x 8” Marbles Sea & Sky Paper Pack
4” x 2” Greyboard Tag
Versafine Ink Pad – Smokey Gray
Inktense Pencils – Leaf Green, Carmine Pink, Bright yellow
Water Brush
Foam Pads
Scissors
Flower Soft – Polar White
Water Colour Card
Gelatos – Elderberry, Silver Ice
Baby Wipe
Embossing Powder – Wow Blue Lagoon
Clear Embossing Stamp Pad – Wow
Distress Oxide Stamp Pad – Peacock Feathers
Heat Gun
Dries Clear Glue
Embellishment – Bead Strings from Lisa Horton – Pale Blue, White
Glue Gun
Organza Ribbon – Light blue /green
Step 1 –Take a sheet of paper from your paper pack and cut to size of tag. You will notice it is a little short so cut in the middle. You will not see the gap as covered with the backing paper. Glue in place.
Step 2 –Take your stencil and water colour card. Place the stencil in corner of paper and colour with a baby wipe that has Gelatos scribbled into it. Start with Elderberry and cover page side by side. Next use the stencil twisted in different directions with the Silver Ice and baby wipe. Allow to dry.
- Once dried stamp the snowflake from Pippa Penguin’s stamp set randomly over the paper with a clear embossing ink. Cover with an embossing powder like Wow’s Blue Lagoon and heat emboss.
- Cut this to size to fit in the middle of the tag, edge to edge.
Step 3 –Use the wording ‘Winter Wishes’ on a scrap piece of backing paper with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers. I cut the wording in half so that I could get a snowflake in the middle. My wee sentiment is 2” x 1 ½ “. Put aside.
Step 4 –Stamp four Pippa Penguins with Versafine Smokey Gray and two Candy Cane’s. Colour in Pippa and your candy cane’s. I used Inktense and a water brush.
- Pop a wee bit of glue on the bobble on Pippa’s hat (coloured one’s). Cover with Flower Soft. This gives a lovely fluffy effect.
- Cut all your stamped pieces out.
- Then cut the hat, feet and beaks from the coloured Pippa and decoupage onto the uncoloured one’s. Glue the candy canes on to the hand flippers.
- Glue your Pippa’s to your tag in opposite corners and at a quirky angle.
Step 5 –Glue your sentiment under the top Pippa
Step 6 –Using a hot glue gun, glue your bead embellishment into place, twisting the bead ribbon’s over one another as you go.
Step 7 –Use a bradle or pokey tool to pop the hole through the tag at the top. Thread a piece of ribbon through hole at top.
Now you have a cute tag to use on a scrapbook page, parcel or just hang on the wall.
Have a lovely crafty day
